| Hypothyroidism Undiagnosed thyroid conditions are epidemic in this country. Dr. Berglund has seen countless patients that have said, “My doctor did lab testing and told me my thyroid is fine.” Yet, when he examines the patient and does a thorough history, he finds this patient has many of the symptoms consistent with hypothyroidism or low thyroid. Ultimately, we have become too dependent onthe lab tests alone to validate normal thyroid function. Thyroid is a hormone just like insulin is a hormone. For example, in the case of Type 2 Diabetes, insulin is produced in an adequate (and many times excessive) amount, but yet is not doing its job. It doesn’t adequately communicate with the cells. Dr. Berglund believes that the same thing happens with thyroid hormones (T3 and T4 primarily). If your thyroid is running too low, you can eat perfect and take tons of vitamins and still feel sick. The hormones are there, but the function just isn’t. Are you interested in getting healthy again, or in getting your energy back? If so, check out the signs and symptoms below to see if your thyroid might be the key to unlocking your health potential. |
